LIVING SPACES BY LYN IS A ONE-STOP FOR DESIGN

The team of design professionals at Living Spaces all share one thing in common: They love to reimagine spaces. Because the bench of talent is deep--from degreed interior designers, to renovation specialists, certified stagers and move managers--they can step into a home design project at any stage in the game.

Living Spaces is an excellent resource for homeowners who need professional expertise and insight creating a space that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but liveable. They even do homes that are eye-catching enough to sell faster and for more money.  “We work with the homeowner to develop the overall design which may mean creating a vision board and floor plan,” owner Lyn Maybry says. “We often manage the overall project which can include selecting flooring, paint colors, countertops and tile, everything right down to the light fixtures. There are so many moving parts and we can help with any one of those projects, coordinating one phase to another. Sometimes people are looking for one-stop shopping; they need help with the creative and the nuts and bolts.”

Their services are staging, interior design, renovation, and move management. If a realtor, buyer, or seller come to Living Spaces for help, Lyn’s team will first meet them for an initial consultation for an overview of the project. “We are very transparent,” Lyn says about what sets her company apart from the rest. Living Spaces charges by the hour, does not up-charge, and passes on discounts and vendors that are vetted and trusted.

– Lyn Maybry

Lyn started Living Spaces By Lyn 12 years ago. After two to three years by herself, she now has a team of four certified stagers: three interior designers (one who is a certified designer and stager), one certified move manager, and an administrative assistant, who work together as a one-stop shop for all of her customers’ home design needs.

When Lyn began her company, she was working in another field but because her mother was a well-known interior designer in Nashville, she also had the knack of staging homes on local tours. People around Lyn said, “This is what you ought to be doing,” she recalls, so she moved her family to Louisville from Nashville, bought a condo, rehabbed it, and began Living Spaces, after receiving two certifications and joining a local staging group.

After several years, two local designers joined Lyn’s team, which was getting calls left and right from clients with homes she had previously staged asking her to help with new projects. “The demand was there,” Lyn says about her company, which also added an interior designer who specializes in rehabbed homes.

Some clients who meet with the team just need a coach or validation. “They want their visions to shine through,” says Lyn. Other clients need more hand-holding, so Living Spaces will connect the realtor or owner with subcontractors the company works with regularly for coordinated jobs.

The designers at Living Spaces believe in honoring the space and styles of each individual client.  “We work with the things our clients love... the colors and objects that nourish them.  We are there to help them pull it all together,” Lyn says.

If you have a renovation, staging, or design project, Lyn suggests you call Living Spaces before you let the job take over your life. “It’s hard to back up and analyze what it needs,” says Lyn. “A lot of times, people can't do that … they can’t put it together,” she says. “That’s why they call us.”
