If only you could watch a fashion show from a really comfy sofa, but it would be in real life so you could see the models and all the details of the outfits. Well, the fourth annual Runway for the Roses at Westport Village does just that. Yep, arrive early to the show at Bliss Home to sit in Bliss Home’s own comfortable sofas, couches and chairs.
“It’s exciting. You get to sit in comfortable furniture while you’re watching the show,” says Carmen Schreiber, marketing associate of Westport Village. “There’s no bad seat in the house.”
The March 19 event starts with a cocktail hour featuring light bites from Steak & Bourbon and Hiko-a-mon from Westport Village, as well as Atlantic No. 5. The fashion show itself takes place on a raised runway, 48 feet long, where you’ll see models from Heyman Talent (with their hair done by Fusion Salon) showing the hottest Derby and spring fashions from Westport boutiques: Apricot Lane Boutique, Collections, Darling State of Mind, Rabbit in the Moon and Tunie’s Boutique, plus jewelry from Clater Jewelers and men’s clothing and accessories from Shirts Ties N Links.
Between each fashion scene there’ll be drawings for giveaways. TOPS’ very own Editor-in-Chief, Kathy Thuerbach, will be among the media reps on stage and Claudia Coffey is the emcee. After the show, attendees will be able to shop for the looks directly from the Westport Village shop owners.
“I think it’s a fun way to bring all our boutiques together to showcase the styles in advance of Derby and you can actually shop the looks for a deal right here in the center,” Carmen says. “You can purchase literally off the runway the same day.”
