Bringing top notch community theater to Louisville, CenterStage at the Jewish Community Center offers professional quality shows with all volunteer casts. The non-profit organization presents live performances exemplifying a stellar level of love and dedication. "We focus on performing shows designed to excite audiences, as well as provide thought provoking content relatable to the Jewish experience," says Frank Goodloe, Performance and Visual Arts Di- rector at JCC.

This year marks the 21st season of CenterStage, but the JCC has a lineage of presenting plays that goes back nearly 100 years, making it one of the longest running community theaters in the country. It's a major staple in the community, some of the actors involved have been a part of the theater's programs for the full 21-year legacy. CenterStage is well known and celebrated for its consistent sense of diversity, practicing color-blind casting that allows opportunities for all according to ability. "We try to represent everyone," Frank says. "We hope people leave moved and having had a real experience with us-be it joy, or otherwise- we want audiences to feel different by what they see at CenterStage.

Running September 5 – 22, CenterStage presents Dreamgirls, the stunning musical based loosely upon the lives and careers of that legendary Motown group, The Supremes. Loaded with fantastic tunes, the show is perhaps best known for the magnificently powerful “And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going.” It's sure to bring the house down. Tickets are available at
