NULU FEST

The end of summer is bittersweet, but we are definitely going out with a bang celebrating our favorite event of the year, NULU Fest! Yes, we do help produce the Festival, but that’s not the only reason we love it. NULU Fest is one-of-a-kind in its dedication to a celebration of all things NULU, and through that spirit, all things Louisville. The event is free, open to the public and has activities for all ages. The festival motto, “Food, Frolic and Fun”, really sums it up. Come celebrate with us.

To say it is a neighborhood effort is an understatement. It’s not just the shops, breweries, and restaurants that get involved. Our festival artwork is designed by the talented graphic designers at Mperfect (203 S. Shelby Street). Our signs are printed by FastSigns (600 E. Main Street #201). Our swag is organized by Jeb Advertising (618 E. Market Street), and all of our members help promote the event! These small business owners are what make NULU such a unique destination, and we are grateful for their talent and dedication to this event.

NEW THIS YEAR

This year is our biggest yet and will mark some big changes for the festival.

Things are going to look a little different this year. We are rearranging, and moving booths to the center of the street of Market Street, clearing the way for guests to browse our unique storefronts at the same time as enjoying vendor booths. Market Street isn’t the only gem of NULU. This year’s festival is expanding to include side street activations with the addition of a Farmer’s Market, petting zoo, and kids’ area.

More music means more fun! We are doubling down on the entertainment this year with two main stages. The entire festival will be capped on both ends of East Market Street with stages that will alternate live music sets, while featuring local cultural entertainment in between bands. We are grateful to our partnership with SonaBLAST Records (a former NULU Resident) for their dedication to this event.

Hungry? In the spirit of highlighting the neighborhood, our food providers have been thoughtfully curated to compliment the brick and mortar establishments within the NULU streets. Food Truck Alley will feature carefully selected food trucks and all local restaurants and bars will be ready to serve guests looking to take a break from the busy festival thoroughfare.

Thirsty? The Green Building parking lot, located in the heart of the festival area, will include The Kentucky Guild of Brewers Beer Garden, featuring local craft beer, and the NULU Bourbon Row, offering handcrafted cocktails from the finest in Kentucky BourbonWhiskey. In addition, two full bars located next to each stage, at either end of the festival, will conveniently serve beer, wine, and spirits.

This year’s Presenting Sponsors are Royal’s Hot Chicken, Feast BBQ and Bar Vetti. All three are owned by High Cotton Hospitality and are hosting the first ever Royal’s Hot Chicken Eating Contest on the stage at 4pm. Come cheer on these gastro-champions as they eat some of Louisville’s most delicious chicken!

FESTIVAL TIPS

This is a pet free event. Service animals are permitted within festival limits.

The Kids’ Area is only open from 11am-5pm. Bring the kids early, enjoy the day and be home by bedtime. Or even better, be home in time for a sitter and come back and rock out with our SonaBLAST bands!

NULU Fest is predominately a cash event. ATMs will be available throughout the festival.

The event is rain or shine. Bring sunscreen and reusable water containers. The Louisville Water Company will be there. If you should overheat, don’t worry, we have nurses and EMTs on-site.

Parking is available surrounding the festival on local streets and garages, or better yet Uber or Lyft down and skip the parking.
