Lauren and Robby Neutz are a husband and wife remodeling team; they recently transformed a dilapidated and dated bathroom into a glamorous and luxurious lavatory.
The Jeffersontown Monticello Place fixer-upper had a solid footprint, according to Lauren, but just needed an update. “It makes things a little easier,” Lauren says about a room having a good core. “It cuts down on cost and time.” Their company, Neutz Flipz, only had to make some minor changes to plumbing and electric, which are often two of the most labor-intensive jobs.
Robby, a general contractor, managed the project. He opened the shower and added glass to make the room look and feel bigger. The statement piece of the room is definitely the acrylic oval sloped reclining tub. “Every house is different,” Lauren says. ”Sometimes, the house has the character, or sometimes we go with what the client is looking for.”
Lauren was inspired by Carrara marble and diamonds; she wanted to convert the room into a bright and shiny oasis with whites and grays to give it a “glamorous feel.” Lauren especially liked using chrome fixtures and crystal pieces for an opulent feel. “Some- times I get really fixed on a color or material.”
Her favorite part of the re-do? Everything. “I got to do everything I wanted to do with it,” Lauren says.
