Southern California girl turned Louisville transplant Karla Jane Kipling loves her high-rise apartment at the Residences at the
Omni. Karla is a brand developer who moved to Louisville from Newport Beach, California in May to work for several local companies specializing in consumer products. And, of course, she brought her beachy, sea-shelled SoCal vibes to the River City.
Karla’s one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment has an open feel and the killer views she always wanted. She found the apartment on- line before the move, and took a chance that it would be just the right space for her and her two exotic felines, Greta and Gunter. She brought virtually nothing but artwork with her from the West, and started fresh with bright and light décor.
Karla went with a Mexican Riviera theme: white linen couch and dining chairs, and little-to-no color in the home. “This just feels comfortable to me,” Karla says. She never pulls the blinds in the many windows in the space, watching the sun rise and fall over the city. “I never get tired of looking out,” she says. “I’m so happy here.”
She loves cooking meals in the stainless steel appliances and Williams-Sonoma cookware located in the wide, white kitchen and then takes it to the deck lined with a white table, faux grass and Karla’s herbs. She does most of her brand work from home, as she enjoys many of the Omni’s amenities, including the rooftop pool. “Every day I feel like I’m on vacation,” Karla says. “I wake up every day saying, ‘I love this place.’”
