The renaissance of downtown New Albany brought forth a bevy of new eateries, boutiques, bars and businesses and while some have come and gone, The Exchange Pub + Grill remains a solid entry in a crowded field.
Owned by local restaurateur Ian Hall, the Exchange has expanded since it opened in 2012 to include a large pet friendly patio and an open upstairs dining area that’s perfect for company lunches or big groups at dinner.
The Exchange was constructed in a building that sat empty for over a decade. Bringing it back to life using repurposed items was part of the environmentally friendly concept. Here, you’ll find local beers, large portions and creatively crafted cocktails all designed to set The Exchange apart from competitors on both sides of the river.
The menu changes seasonally both in the kitchen and in the bar, where cleverly crafted cocktails make spirits just as important as the lunch and dinner offerings.
The Exchange Pub + Kitchen is located at 118 W. Main in New Albany. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Dinner is served Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and until 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Sunday hours are from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The bar is open until 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Reservations are accepted.
