Hosparus Health’s May 11 ‘Remembering Our Mothers’ brunch to feature guest storyteller Lisa Hutson of WHAS-TV
Hosparus Health Grief Counseling Center hosts annual Mother’s Day event that brings women who have lost their mothers together to celebrate their special mother-daughter connection

(LOUISVILLE, KY) — The Hosparus Health Grief Counseling Center will host its annual “Remembering Our Mothers” brunch on Saturday, May 11, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The University Club at University of Louisville Belknap Campus, 200 E. Brandeis Ave. In honor of Mother’s Day, the event offers a chance for women who have lost their mothers to remember and celebrate their special mother-daughter connection.

This year’s guest speaker is Lisa Hutson, afternoon news anchor for WHAS-TV. A Kentucky native, Hutson returned home to the Bluegrass State in January to begin her role with WHAS. Her passion, empathy and care for others is demonstrated by her documentary work, “Finding Home,” which follows a family’s journey out of homelessness; “Life After War,” which shines light on veterans returning from active duty; and “Heart of Central Texas,” which shares stories from the Texas heartland. During the brunch, Hutson will share a story closer to her heart — the unexpected death of her mother and her story of meaning-making from the life-changing loss of her best friend.

Tickets are $20, and registrations are due by Friday, May 3. Attendees may bring a framed photograph of their mothers to the celebration. To purchase tickets or for more information, visit http://bit.ly/RememberingMothers2019 or call (502) 456-5451 or (888) 345-8197.
