While there haven't been a ton of movies released this year (or many theaters even open for that matter), The Academy of Motion Pictures is still going on with the show! This year's Oscars will obviously be different than any before, but it's nice to see that the folks who run Hollywood realize we've never needed a little glamour and distraction more than now. Every year we like to put together our dream Oscar's red carpet look and we are naturally keeping that tradition going. Due to Covid, not many fashion houses have been putting out new collections, but we still managed to find a gown grand enough for the occasion.
The Jenny Packham Mercedes design is truly a splendid choice for such a regal event. Adorned with glossy, gold-tone beads, the slinky, floor-sweeping silhouette features a cape-style overlay for an extra dash of decadence. It finishes with a simple round neckline to achieve a balanced look, and this exquisite creation pulls no punches when it comes to evening glamour.
With the sparkling embellishments in place, this gown needs little in the way of accessories, but we continued to take inspo from the golden Oscar's statue with some fancy footwear. Alexandre Vauthier's Carine ankle strap sandals are crafted in Italy, featuring an open toe and 4.3-inch heel.
Next is an elegant metallic clutch by Oscar de la Renta adorned with a delicate ribbon clasp.
We added an extra helping of shimmer with Anderoli's diamond pavé drop earrings. No movie star look would be complete without a little lipstick. Tom Ford Beauty's Satin Matte Lip Color in a striking shade of sassy coral-red adds instant drama.
Even though we will be watching from the comforts of our own homes, we can still dream about our glorious, Oscar-worthy "Golden Hour" ensemble and a perfect closing to awards season fun.
